As a young kid, my grandma made us go to church on Sunday, sometimes it
seemed like all day. I never looked forward to it, but later I began to
realize I was really missing something. Then at just the right time, God
sent a friend, Brian, to guide me. I began starting days with God's word and
learning to turn negative things into something positive. At 18, I seriously
put my faith in Christ. With His strength, I'm handling tough situations and
relationships with patience and a positive attitude. It's cool to understand
that God teaches me things that are so valuable. I want to make the most of
my life, if it's on or off the field.
Before I trusted in Christ, I got frustrated with circumstances. I grew up
with a bad attitude that got me in trouble...I didn't handle tough things,
relationships very well. (Now) God provides when I trust Him and work hard
to do my part. When things aren't going well, I keep believing that things
will work out if I'm patient to wait. I'm learning to "be careful what you
say" and to surround myself with positive people to influence me.
I started days with reading God's word; I think it's cool to understand what
God is like and how interesting the Bible is. I began learning to turn
negative thing into positive. I began to think positively for the first time
and be more patient. Since trusting Christ fully, I've learned to forgive
people and not to hold grudges. I've also found that when things aren't
going well, to keep believing that God always provides. He will see me
through. That's my key for the rest of my life: being faithful!
