Who is Jesus?

Before Jesus was Jesus as we know Him, He was with God in heaven.  In fact, it was through Jesus that the whole earth was created.  He existed—and still does—as the Son of God, with God the Father in heaven.

Why did He come?

When you become a follower of Jesus, you put your trust in Him to save you from being kept away from God forever. He claimed to be the ONLY way to God. Not one of several ways, but the one and only way. Not to teach the way, but to be the way to God. Nobody has ever made claims like that before and backed them, but Jesus did through his love, balanced life, and miracles.

Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me." John 14:6

He claimed to live a sinless life

Jesus could look at a crowd of people angry at his claims to share God's nature and ask, "Which of you can point to anything wrong in my life?" Even more amazing is that none of them could give a reply! No human being, including any other religious leader, has ever lived a sinless life, except for Jesus.

Jesus said: "Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." John 8:46-47

Why did He die?

Have you ever done anything wrong? God created people to have a perfect, close relationship with them. He gave them only one rule to follow—and they disobeyed Him. Ever since that time, humans have been disobeying God, and a sacrifice of life has had to be made to cover the sins of the person so they can be close with God. Jesus came to be the complete sacrifice for our sins and take the judgment of death we would have to face. Because of His death, we can come to God and have eternal life.

Why did He rise from the dead?

Because of Jesus' resurrection, his followers do not honor a dead founder. They have a vital, personal relationship with him. Jesus Christ lives today and faithfully enriches the lives of all those who trust and obey him. Christians no longer have to be afraid of death or judgment because Jesus took death upon Himself for us!

Where is He now and what is He doing?

Though Jesus left earth after God raised Him from the dead, He has not stopped working or being involved with those who believe in Him.  The Bible says God “seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority…and He put all things under His feet” (Ephesians 1:20-22).  This means that God has put Jesus in control of all things—every person and every authority, both now and forever.  Jesus also promises that when you put your trust in Him, He will always be with you.
